The Right Order to Clean a Room So You Never Redo Your Work
Top to bottom, dry to wet
Always work from the top of the room down. Clear and declutter first, then dust high surfaces, shelves, and fixtures so anything that falls lands on the floor you have not cleaned yet. Wipe surfaces next, and save vacuuming and mopping the floor for last.

Within that order, go dry before wet: dust and sweep before you introduce any spray or water, so you are not turning loose dust into smeared grime. Follow this every time and you will never find yourself re-cleaning a spot you just finished.
